About Pennington United Methodist Church

Pennington United Methodist Church is an active and open community of people who work, pray, and celebrate together the good news of Jesus Christ. Join us for in-person worship on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. with Fellowship Time (coffee and treats) immediately after worship. Children are always welcome to stay with their parents for worship.

The goal of the United Methodist Church is "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors".  At Pennington United Methodist Church, we seek to take that a step further. Church should feel like home, and that's the context we seek to provide here, a place where all are welcomed, honored, and loved.

We are progressive in our outlook, believing that religion should be biblically responsible, intellectually honest, emotionally satisfying, and socially significant.  Following Christ means being a part of an ongoing journey of worship, study, prayer, and service, and we welcome you to journey with us.  We don't claim to have all the answers, but we are committed to the struggle of trying to find them both inside and outside the faith community.  This congregation is committed and dedicated to the work of Christ in addressing the needs of a hurting world.

We are open to new ways of seeing the world, and new ways of doing ministry.  If you are looking for a church home, we believe we have much to offer you, and that you will have much to teach us.

The members of Pennington United Methodist Church affirm that all people are created in the image of God, and as beloved children of God, are all worthy of God's love and grace. We celebrate our diversity and recognize the sacred worth and dignity of all persons regardless of gender, race, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical or mental capacity, education or economic or marital status.

We recognize that there remain differences of opinion among us. We do not seek to erase our differences but believe that we can love alike even though we may not think alike.  We welcome all in our journey together in faith toward greater understanding and mutual respect.
