Outreach

Members of Pennington United Methodist Church are active in many areas of service, following Jesus’ command to “love one another” as God has loved us.

Monthly Breakfast in Trenton- Every 3rd Saturday we volunteer to cook and serve breakfast at Turning Point UMC in Trenton along with Urban Grace and Standing Up for Racial Justice groups.  Over 200 meals are served for our neighbors experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.  We gather in the church parking lot to carpool together.

Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) - During the winter months, coats, hats, and gloves are collected and taken to TASK for distribution to those in need. Food staples are collected during the year to support this ministry.

Turning Point Food Pantry - Turning Point Methodist Church in Trenton hosts a food pantry. Our Mission Committee supports this ministry with a monthly monetary donation.

Hopewell Valley Mobile Food Pantry - We support this community outreach program with monetary donations and collection of food staples throughout the year.

Neighborhood Center of Camden - Located in South Camden, one of the poorest areas of the State. The United Methodist "Settlement House" there has been in existence for over 100 years and continues its vital ministry to the most needy families and children of that city.  Pennington UMC Missions has an ongoing ministry with the center, monthly providing dozens of homemade casseroles for their seniors as well as contributing new games and toys for their after-school summer day camp children.

UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) - The Missions Committee supports the worldwide and national disaster relief efforts through the UMC branch of disaster relief. Recently, the Church has supported relief efforts in the Ukraine, hurricane relief in NJ and FL, and fire and flood relief in HI and KY/WV.
